The Church Conspiracy

What is the church conspiracy? I go to a mainstream Christian Church but I have a lot of friends and work colleagues who think that I am brainwashed. Somehow, they think I am being coerced into doing something which you would not normally do of your own free will or you are being controlled. They sometimes confuse church with cults that don’t let you out of their sight when you join. There are a lot of conspiracies out there about Church going people. They don’t consider that you just might actually be going because you want to.

One classic conspiracy theory augment is that we are being controlled by the state but when it comes to the Church, the usual conspiracy theory is that we are being milked for money by some church leader who is in it for the money or the Church has gathered so much money to spend it on themselves or similar arguments.

Sometimes my friends pass on articles to me on social media by notable people like Stephen Fry or Sir David Attenborough who have made outbursts against God, asking me what I think. They use the fallen world as an excuse to say, If God…Why….?

A personal loss

I once had a friend who started to believe a conspiracy theory that the shooting of JF Kennedy was a cover up and this led to the man not landing on the moon conspiracy theory. He then refrained from watching normal news programs saying they only fed you what the government wanted you to believe. He also claimed Jews ruled the world or 8 people controlled the World, even though there is no evidence of this. When Covid-19 came along he thought that was a conspiracy to take away our rights so he refused the vaccine. Even though I did all the research to show it was safe he still refused the vaccine but acknowledged I was trying to keep him safe.  Sadly he ended up dying from Covid-19 by which time everything had became a conspiracy to him. He was a normal intelligent chap who was talented at writing and a musician with this own group.

When people stop their reasoning and start believing anything they read on the internet as true then this is what can happen, but this is as bad as people who don’t do their own research before believing this sort of thing.

The real truth about Church

The Church is a target for some who are mainly atheists to replace God with conspiracism hypothesis that claims church is a crutch for people with psychological, social, or emotional needs. Some people want to think that we are being forced into something that is not real. Forced by who? There are many Christians who are Doctors, Physicists, Police men and women and politicians. In fact people from every sphere of life and at the top of their specialty but all have found God and Jesus to be very real indeed. That’s why they’re there.

Most Churches are poor or struggling to stay open and some Churches are rich but don’t share their finances with others or are really cults masquerading as a Church. The truth is that in the UK people can come and go to any Church they wish and they can support their local Church if they feel the need. The important thing is that Jesus is the reason why people go to Church and they want to worship him for his death and resurrection but also thank God for his love for each person. As you grow with God, you will want to do more for fellow people around the globe or just in the local area. It is this love of Jesus that motivates people to go to Church and help others, or fight injustice. The only conspiracy theory here is evolution! It’s not true that evolution is scientific and has been proven. God is real and Jesus has been written about to prove He historically existed, the only difference is that Christians say Jesus was risen from the dead so we who believe (and that invitation is open to all) could spend our lives with the creator of the universe. The Holy Spirit guides us through the Bible to help us see God at work in human history and shows us what will happen in the future.

If you want to know what the bible says about the future of our world you could start by reading my article entitled The Mark of the Beast.
